Principal's message
Welcome to Mullumbimby High School, located on the traditional lands of the Bundjalung Nation in the picturesque Brunswick River Valley of the Far North Coast. Since 1886, our school has proudly served the local community, welcoming students from diverse backgrounds including rural farming families, coastal villages, semi-urban areas, and those embracing alternative lifestyles. This unique blend of cultures and experiences enriches our school community, creating a vibrant and inclusive environment where every student’s identity is valued.
Our dedicated teaching staff are passionate experts who deliver a comprehensive curriculum designed to cater to individual strengths and goals. Students have the flexibility to pursue a highly academic pathway aiming towards university entrance, a vocational education pathway focusing on practical skills and career readiness, or a personalised combination of both. We are committed to inclusive education practices that support students with diverse learning needs, ensuring that every learner is challenged, supported, and empowered to succeed.
Co-curricular opportunities at Mullumbimby High School are extensive and varied. Students can participate in competitive sports, creative and performing arts programs, cultural events, entrepreneurship initiatives, civic engagement, and leadership development. These experiences are integral to our holistic approach to education, helping students build confidence, teamwork skills, and a strong sense of responsibility and belonging.
Student wellbeing is a priority, supported through a range of programs, stemming from the Garihma Wellbeing Hub, which provides tailored support and fosters resilience, positive relationships, and mental health. We maintain strong partnerships with local primary schools to ensure smooth transitions and continuity in learning. Our Muggi Muggi Culture Aboriginal Education program, developed in close collaboration with community elders and the Aboriginal Education Consultative Group, celebrates and strengthens Indigenous culture and knowledge within our school.
At Mullumbimby High School, we are proud of our tradition of academic, creative, and sporting excellence. We are dedicated to nurturing pride, celebrating achievements, and inspiring both students and staff to grow, learn, and thrive in a supportive, respectful, and inclusive community.
