The Creative and Performing Arts Faculty (CAPA) offer subjects including Visual Art, Music, Drama, Photography, Film and Video and Visual Design.
The Creative Arts are an essential element of every student’s education, with evidence showing that the skills in critical thinking, improvising, imagination, cultural awareness and understanding, collaboration and confidence gained in studying the Creative Arts subjects has significant benefits across all subjects a student learns. These skills will be used by students in their future jobs and career, as well as when they participate in the cultural life of their community.
Classes are taught by highly skilled and experienced teachers in our excellent facilities.
Stage 4 (Years 7 and 8) students study 100 hours each of Music and Visual Art courses over two years, before having the opportunity to take any of the CAPA subjects as electives, which they study as two year courses, through Stage 5 (Years 9 and 10).
In Stage 6 (Years 11 and 12), students can choose to study any of the subjects offered by our faculty.
With dedicated staff, some of the best facilities available to students on the North Coast, dynamic and innovative programs and extensive community connections, students will find reward and achievement in their Creative Arts study at Mullumbimby High School.
