Technological and applied studies (TAS) is one of the fastest-growing and most innovative subject areas. TAS specialises in leading technology courses across a wide area of student skills and interests. It is an educational area based on skill development, innovation and creative thinking practices.

Technology education assists students to develop an understanding of the impact of technologies on culture, society and the environment. It teaches the skills, ideas and concepts of today to meet the students’ educational and life needs of the future.

TAS subjects are predominately practical and provide students with the opportunity to gain valuable life skills that are relevant for further study, future learning and various employment opportunities.

The TAS teachers are specialised teachers with skills, attributes and knowledge from various industries and skill sets. These attributes allow for the diversity of subjects and varied opportunities that are provided to students in all TAS classes

The TAS faculty have extensive facilities including, two industrial workshops, graphics room, two kitchens, of which one is a semi commercial kitchen, textiles room as well as a computer lab.
